Mildred Marcus Crisp, 95, of the Panther Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 9, 2012 in a Swain County Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Ellis F. and Minnie Crisp Marcus and wife of the late Lacy Crisp.
She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church for the past 83 years. Mildred was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and sister.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mamie DeHart, Estelle Jones, Marie Stillwell, and Olean Willison.
She is survived by three children, Carolyn Kachlik of Almond, Gary Crisp and wife Peggy of McDonough, GA, Mike Crisp and wife Andrea of Bryson City; eight grandchildren, Kathy Culbertson, Jeff Kachlik, Judy Hammer, Tonya Gandee, Gary Boyd Crisp, Shannon Hope, Carrie Buchanan, and Alex Crisp; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Edwards will officiate with burial in the Panther Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friend’s from6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mildred and mom were great friends; seemed as they got older, every time they met up they were talking about their funerals. Quite depressing. They were alike in many ways. I know you will all miss her so much; but what a blessing to have her for so many years. You are all in my thoughts in these difficult days ahead.

I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing away. She was a great lady and always treated me with respect. I know she will be missed by all of you and your extended family. Pather Creek community will not be the same without her. Carolyn I feel for you because you and Mildred were so close. I know how it is to loose your mom. My heart will be there with you tomorrow during the service and prayers through out the coming days that God will confort you with all the wonderful memories you have of her and Lacy. We are truly sorry for the loss of your mother. We did not know about it until today and someone at another funeral told me that they had saw it in the paper. Mike. I did not realize it was your mother that had passed away till I read it in the paper. I did not know her but just wanted to let you know I am sorry for your loss. You were so kind to us when mom and daddy died and I just wanted to let you know I appreciated it then and still do. Mommas's are special(daddy's too).
