Robbinsville Dateline:
Vivian Crisp Holder, 88, of the Stecoah Community, passed away after a period of declining health, Monday, February 15, 2010 in Sylva. A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Carey and Hattie Pilkington Crisp. Vivian was a retired School Teacher, having taught at the Alarka and Stecoah Schools with more than 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurshel Holder, and brothers, Vollie and Eugene Crisp.
She is survived by her son, Hank Holder and wife Marsha of Sylva, two grandchildren, Caryn Luley and husband Thomas of Concord, NC, and Casey Holder and wife Autumn of Asheville, two great grandchildren, Kate Luley and Jake Holder, and two brothers, Chester Crisp and wife Jean of Stecoah, and J.C. Crisp and wife Wilma of Stecoah.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Stecoah Baptist Church of which she was a member. Revs. G.D. Phillips and Max Cochran will officiate with burial in The Panther Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the Church.
