Duane E. Walkingstick, 48, of the Yellowhill Community passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Cherokee, he was the son of Frances Catt Walkingstick of Cherokee and the late Wayne Walkingstick.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Merrisa Walkingstick of Texas; one son, Duane Walkingstick, Jr. of Texas; two sisters, Marian Littlejohn of Cherokee, Deborah Walkingstick of Cherokee; two nephews, Michael Walkingstick of Cherokee, Tyler Washington of Cherokee; and two great nieces, Christina Littlejohn and Luci Lira.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Aquoni Baptist Chapel. Burial will be in the Birdtown Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the church at 11:00 a.m. Friday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service.
