Bryson City Dateline:

Jessie Mae Walker, 62, of the Shepherds Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 9th, 2012 in a Jackson County Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Clara Mae Simonds Kirkland of Bryson City and the late Paul Kirkland. She also was preceded in death by one brother Roy Kirkland.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe Walker, two sons, Charles Walker and Fiancée Tiffany Crisp, and Eric Walker, one daughter Amber Turner and husband Ray, two grandchildren Alicia, and Thomas, one great grandchild Lane, five brothers Lyle Kirkland, Leonard Kirkland and wife Patty, Jerry Kirkland, Michael Kirkland and wife Angela, and Dewayne Kirkland and wife Melinda, and three sisters Dorothy Price and husband Ben, Rachel Roland, and Donna Roland and husband Roger.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Fox will officiate with burial in Holly Springs Cemetery #2.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Kirkland, Steven and Brad Roland, John Ledford, Trey Woods, and Dustin Woods.
