Sandra Marlene Plemmons, 73, of the Bryson Branch Community went home to be with the Lord, Friday July 9, 2010 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native of Jackson County, and resident of Swain County for the past 42 years she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Essie Hooper Moore and wife of the late Bill Plemmons. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was an avid sports fan and also loved to garden and work in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Moore.
She is survived by three sons; Mike Plemmons of Swain County, Doug Plemmons, and Tony Plemmons both of Macon County, four sisters; Bessie Moore of Jackson County, Blanche Plemmons of Haywood County, Anna Awald of Henderson County, and Sue Norman of Jackson County, one brother Vance Moore of Jackson County, aunt; Dean Tuttle, and uncle Arnold Hooper, 8 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many great friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Victory Baptist Church. Revs. Jonathan Stephens and Dennis Burrell will officiate with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church 2175 Fontana Rd. Bryson City, NC 28713.
