Fred Burrell, 71, of the Almond Community, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Grady and Christine Cochran Burrell. He owned and operated Almond Trading Post for 40 years. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie and one son, Freddy.
He is survived by three sons, Dwight Burrell and wife Darlene, Paul Burrell, and Fred Burrell, ,Jr. all of Bryson City, three grandchildren, Paul Burrell, Jr. of Rose Bud, MO., Travis Burrell, and Melissa Burrell both of Bryson City, one great grandchild, Levi Cash Burrell, two brothers, Grady Burrell of Bryson City, and James Harvey Burrell of Sevierville, TN, and one sister Lillian Burrell of Duluth Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Taylor will officiate with burial in Sawmill Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
