Barbara J. Kinslow, 73, of the Governors Island Community went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her residence. A native of Indiana, she has been a resident of Swain County for the past 17 years. She was a retired registered nurse having worked in hospitals in Jacksonville, FL and Swain County. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Kinslow; step-son, Gerald (Chopper) Kinslow; and brother, Patrick Maggart.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Dyer and husband Jeffery of Canton, GA; two sons, William (Bill) Kinslow and close friend, Janice Wright of Jacksonville, FL, Kevin Kinslow and friend Donna of Bryson City; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Alexander of San Jose, CA; and one sister, Matilda Carpenter of Broomfield, Colorado.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Seagle will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
