Dixie Kirkland Hughes, 78, of Bryson City, Passed away, Monday December 1, 2014 at her residence. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Ida Watson Kirkland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years William Tommy Hughes.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hughes of Bryson City; granddaughter, Summer Hughes of Bryson City; five siblings, Christeen Mauney, Taylor Kirkland, Drama Woody, Wanda Ballew, and Johnny Kirkland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lauada Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
