Obituary of Betty Alene Robertson

Betty Alene Owenby Robertson, born May 4, 1935, went home to be with the Lord January 15, 2015 following an extended illness in a Swain County nursing facility. A native of Cherokee County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Edward Owenby and the late Mattie Hughes; step daughter of the late Ruth Owenby; and wife of the late Quintin A. Robertson. She was a member of Cornerstone Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Kim Crutchfield Davis of Bryson City, Connie Brown (Blake) of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Blake Parker Brown (Robin) of Opelika, AL, Caroline Brown of Green Cove Springs, FL, Alyssa Crutchfield of Bryson City, and Jenna Crutchfield of Bryson City; one sister, Carolyn Middleton of Asheville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Fox will officiate with burial in the Bellview Cemetery in Murphy, NC at approximately 4 pm Sunday. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweet Thoughts Alzheimer's Group, PO Box 1381, Bryson City, NC 28713. The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain View Manor for their continued support and care.
