Obituary of Michael Ray Jones

Michael Ray Jones, 54, of Bryson City, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 24, 2015. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Glenda Jones Maney of Bryson City and the late Clyde Jones. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan Wiggins Jones; his niece/ daughter Jenna D. Wiggins, a God Child Leanna Crisp; Mother-in-Law Nancy Wiggins; Step Father Charlie Maney; brother, Ron Jones (Joyce); Brothers-in-Law, David "Bear" and Harvey Wiggins; step brothers, Bobby, Charles, and Sam Maney; nephew, Chris Jones; niece, Stephanie Morgan; great niece, Samantha; great nephew, Logan; and great great nephew Casen. Michael graduated from Swain County High School in 1979 and received his Electrical Contracting License from Haywood Tech in 1983. He owned and operated High Country Electrical for 32 years. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Revs. Tim Barker, Ray Fox and Eddie Stillwell will officiate with burial in the Blankenship Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 PM Thursday at the Church. Pallbearers will be Harvey Wiggins, Darrell Phillips, Johnny Crisp, Mark Edwards, Barney Stephens, and John Kalor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Mason, Van Crisp, Scott Warf, Eric Steadman, Chad, Kyle, Kurt, and Cody Stephens, Curt Millsaps, George Brown, Chris Jones, Chris Monteith, and George Lee.
