Kathy Mae Evans, 60, of the Lackey Hill Community, found peace Thursday June 18, 2015 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Georgia Hyde Lackey of Bryson City. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Lackey.
In addition to her parents she is survived by two sons, Brandon Burdette and wife Norma of Bryson City, Chandler Smith of Birmingham, Alabama, one daughter Stephanie Battles of Marion, NC; grandchildren, Derek Webb, Talon Lackey, Hailey Nations, Tamra Nations, Taylor Nations, Pearl Battles, Alexandria Dula, and Breanna Brown; three sisters Patricia Woodard, Yvonne Swan, and Sandra Lackey; and one brother Charles Lackey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Pastor Red Woodard will officiate with burial in the Round Top Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
