Obituary of Phillip Woodrow Cochran

Phillip "Woody" Cochran, 75, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 20, 2015 in a Buncombe County Hospital. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Mann and Edna Barker Cochran. He loved his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Woodrow Cochran and his great granddaughter, Kali Cochran. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Smith Cochran; one daughter, Regina Cochran Howell and husband Steve of Bryson City; four grandchildren, Steven J. Howell, Joshua Keith Cochran, Brittany Cochran Woods, Clay Young; six great grandchildren, Gabbriel Abbott, Maya Piper, Steven Howell, Lily Woods, Levi Cochran, and Paislee Woods; and Christy Young who he loved like a daughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Ronald Dodson and James (Bo) Brown will officiate with burial in the Brendle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Clay Young, Terry Young, Trey Woods, Joshua Cochran, Doug Cochran and Daniel Cochran.
