Obituary of Mildred Estelle McMahan

Mildred McMahan, 72, of the Ela Community, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, June 22, 2015 in a Buncombe County Health Care Facility. A native of Atlanta Ga, she was the daughter of the late Curtis James and Anne Montgomery Brown and wife of the late Calvin W. McMahan.
She is survived by 13 children, Calvin Michael McMahan of Sylva, Kathy Hoyle and husband Greg of Sylva, Pamela Douthit and husband Eugene of Bryson City, Carla McMahan of Sylva, Angela Johnson and Curtis Ward of Bryson City, Mickey McMahan Sr. and wife Cindy of Bryson City, Rennie McMahan and wife Christine of Bryson City, Ray McMahan of Bryson City, Alvin McMahan and wife Vergie of Bryson City, Paula Allison and Thomas Newcomb of Bryson City, Rhonda Franklin of Bryson City, Wilma McMahan and husband Samuel of Wadesboro, NC, Douglas McMahan of Bryson City; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Thomas Chapel Church. Rev. Larry Foster will officiate with burial in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Crisp Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the Church 1 hour prior to the service.
