Freda grew up in Whittier and after her marriage to Earl Fisher from Willets, NC, they lived in several places in the eastern part of the United States before moving to Atlanta, GA where they lived for many years. After Earl's death, she married Don Brown from Villa Rica, GA and when Don retired they moved back to Whittier, built a new home, and became very involved in many activities in Whittier and Bryson City. They were very active in the Whittier United Methodist Church. After Don's death, Freda remained active in the church, especially her favorite activity: singing in the choir. A service celebrating Freda's life will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 2:00 pm at the Whittier United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Baxter officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her beloved church. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
