Obituary of Imogene Greene

DATELINE: LINCOLNTON OBITUARY OF: IMOGENE RAINES GREENE Imogene Raines Greene, 72, went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2015, after a five year battle with Alzheimers. Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2015, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton. Her funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City with Rev. Tony Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in the Swain Memorial Park in Bryson City, NC. She was born the second daughter of Ancil and Antha Rains in Slickford, KY on May 26, 1943. She worked a Peebles Department Store in Charlotte for 15 years and Country Corner in Lincolnton for 18 years before retirement in 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack Rains. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul William Greene; two sons Keith Medlin and wife Paula of Clover, SC and Dwayne Greene and wife Jennifer of Tega Cay, SC; five grandchildren, Kacy and Matt Agee, Clint Medlin, Aniston and Aiden Greene; three sisters Vonnie Upchurch and husband John of Hampton, VA, Judy Litchfield and husband Charlie of Denver, NC, and June Lankford and husband Barry of Huntersville, NC; two brothers Danny Rains and wife Pam of Ft. Mill, SC and David Rains and wife Tammy of Harrisburg, NC; a very special first cousin to her Kay Koger and wife Barbara of Monticello, KY; and 28 nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Alzheimers Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 28071.
