Harold R. Dugan, 89, of Bryson City passed away at Mountain View Manor Nursing Home on November 8, 2015. He was the son of Jerry and Margaret Dugan. A native of Swain County, he served in the Army in World War II and spent most of his working life as a rural letter carrier serving the Alarka community and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Elizabeth Dugan. They were members of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Terrence L. Dugan, a daughter-in-law, Peggy Dugan, and three grandchildren, Erin, Jonathan and Brendan.
A funeral service will be held at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, November 12. The family will receive friends at Crisp Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
